Really enjoying the fact that giant corporations such as Stella Artois and now Addidas are approaching older forms of billboard execution. The time-lapse video above shows how the ad is put together from start to finish. These ad’s are currently up on show across New York so go find one!

Woodkid could potentially be the first surprise of 2011. Aged 28, Woodkid aka Yoann Lemoine has released a debut EP of raw beauty. This guy has also directed the video for the single, ‘Iron’ and has previously directed videos for Yelle, Moby and more recently Katy Perry. The video of ‘Iron’, shown above, features top model Agyness Deyn.
Woodkid is currently working on his first full-length album which apparently includes some surprising collaborations. Watch this space…

Read MoreBringing together a classic British design with contemporary styling these stunning wrist watches are intended for everyday use by individuals with an eye for meticulous detailing and a passion for diligent, modern design.
Established in 2009 by product designers, Patrick Bek and Oliver Fowles, the Uniform Wares aesthetic has been tailored with longevity in mind and a firm belief in design with a practical and visual permanence. Each Series is intentionally pared down and characterised by distinct form, durable materials, classic and seasonal colours and engineered surface finishes. While the movements are handpicked from the best Japanese and Swiss manufacturers, every other component part of a Uniform Wares watch, from the CNC machined buckle to the hand drawn font on the back of each case, is conceived, developed and designed in the company’s London offices.
Uniform Wares timepieces are available through their website here and a select circle of international retailers.

The usual suspects are recent art school graduates interested in creating A-symmetrical mole hair ponchos inspired by early John Galliano. A selection of those with the right aesthetic, or the right connections will make it in Oki-Ni for some ridiculous price that could only appeal to the truly fashionable and, or truly gullible.
For the rest of the male population, the choice of brands is really rather limited, places like Topman, Uniqlo and American Apparel have the market cornered. An alternative to the same look of supplementing hoodies or oversized tees with various vintage items, Frater is an interesting new brand, started up by some kids in Manchester. It’s true, they don’t know much about John Galliano, but know a bit about creating wearable, striking street clothes. The price range is similar to what you’d pay for some dead grannies jumper in beyond retro. The denim shirt/ jacket is finished off particularly nicely, and the printed t-shirts are striking and inventive. A good brand to check out for some new clothes for the new season.

Todd Cole‘s new collaborative project with Rodarte (the designers behind many of the costumes in Aronofsky’s Black Swan) entitled ‘The Curve of Forgotten Things’ is a wonderful short starring Dakota Fanning’s younger sister, Elle. The film was shot on an RED camera using Cooke lenses from the 70s & the short’s dusty focus references seminal movies of that era, such as Terrence Malick’s ‘Badlands/. The soundtrack was produced by US ‘Ambient Punk’ band Deerhunter.
