This Saturday we’re back to The Alibi for believe it or not our 12th month. This month we’re bringing back good friend and man of all things East London, Anthony Chalmers (God Don’t Like It, Power Lunches) for a few hours of big tunes to get your drunkenness on to. Alongside Chalmers residents Real Close, Moman and Mad as Hell will be filling in the gaps until 3am.
As always we’re completely free all night – for more information head over to the Facebook event here.
Big thanks to everyone who made it down to The Alibi on Saturday, the bank holiday hangover was wiped out with tequila, red wine and a fair amount of hefty garage from Mad as Hell. We’re back down there on the 14th of July and hope to announce some special friends to join us in the next coming week, for now check out all the latest on the Facebook event here.
Team Fragment are soon off check out Giles Peterson’s Worldwide festival offerings and what with London’s tropical weather this past week we thought we’d make a playlist to get us in the mood. We’ll be adding to it as more acts get announced so make sure you subscribe for all the latest tunes.
Preparing mentally for this weekend is taking it’s toll on my mind, body and soul so to clear the air we decided to make this month’s Top 20 a Good Block Special! Featuring all sorts of classics that’ll get you all in the dance off mood for a double headed weekend. If you don’t see the playlist embedded below, click here to get it straight into yo playa!
For more info on Friday’s Good Block, and for cheaplist get your name on the Facebook here! Or If Saturday’s more your game, we’ve got a late licence Fragment at Alibi – Facebook event here.
We’ve been invited down again to play some crackers from our tune caldron at this month’s Good Block at The Social. It’s the night before our mega late license party, so a perfect dancing warmup for your Sunday hangover. Alongside Fragments very own Real Close there’s music spinning from RGB (Wholemeal), Blackbeltjonez (Burnt Toast), Meat Maison, Pete, Foe and all the other brilliant Good Block DJs. Check out Foe’s latest mix for the night below:
Includes: Outfit, Seapony, Warm brains, Zulu winter, Patterns, Jacques greene, Craft spells, Other lives, Waylon jennings, Alva noto, Balam acab, J.J. cale, We have band, I break horses, Matthew dear, Koreless, Dead meadow, T.E.E.D, Jai paul, Julio bashmore
What a milestone we’ve reached. 19 party’s over the last two years from the dark days at The Horse & Groom to Bestival, The Box and now The Alibi. There’s been some special nights with some outstanding friends playing top notch records until the rum ran out. But this one is set to be a spectacular addition to our third year of partying.
Mark down Saturday the 11th of February in your planna as we’ve invited down flatmate and holder of Glaswegian decent Mr. Frank Mitchell, one third of ‘This is Our House‘ and that fantastic Fragment mix from 2012 – which you can listen to below if you missed it.
Then to keep up with tradition, friend, fellow drinking partner and all round man of musical crime Mr. Tony Poland of Slutty Fringe and Juno Plus fame will be joining the fun yet again after his killer duet in December. Listen to Poland’s Fragment mix below.
Forget about that New Years ‘No Partying’ resolution of yours as January’s Alibi is going to be serious big crack. We’re finally bringing down the duo now known as Gary Spielberg, producers of one of 2011′s finest mixes. Check it out here:
So after much thought, deliberation and whisky we’ve decided to expand our physical publication wing with a second issue of Fragment Magazine. The format will be different, combining new stock and dimensions alongside a new take on music and culture content.
That’s about all we can reveal for now, but stay tuned for more information in the new year.
After last month’s brilliant mix from South London threesome Gigolo Medina still going strong we recruited family friend of the Fragment household Frank Mitchell do record a very special hour long mix for the blog. We’ll be getting him down to Fragment at Alibi over the next few months so make sure you tune in for more from the man himself.
This coming Saturday we’re hitting No.3 at Dalston’s Alibi with another stella line-up including the Scandalism crew (Andy Peyton), Fragment brothers in arms Mad as Hell plus our residents Moman and garage rock enthusiast James Fragment.
As always entry is 110% FREE and we’re open till 3:00am.
It’s another one of our big one’s this Saturday, if you hadn’t been informed already we’re hitting up Dalston’s, The Alibi for the 2nd month in a row. Complete with DJ sets from Wholemeal Music’s Gigolo Medina, Off Modern’s Felix and Johnny and our very own Moman.
As if that wasn’t enough James Fragment (myself) will be spinning an hour long garage rock and swing set and we’re bringing down two of the country’s mega hot young photographers David Lindsay and Stuart Leech – featured here.
Come down, bring your dancing boots and have a ton of fun. For more information head over to the Facebook event here and check out some of the visuals for the night above.
After announcing South London’s Gigolo Medina for our next Alibi extravaganza, we thought we’d get cheeky and ask for a new exclusive mix from the man, and without question – he delivered! Check out the 49 minute joy ride above and make sure you come down to see the fun in the flesh at Fragment 16.
After last month’s, quote “Roaring success” at Alibi, we’ve start a new monthly residency there! Our next magical party will be Saturday the 22nd October, free as always and featuring a super line up of Fragment friends.
